Laser Skin Rejuvenation uses different laser or energy light treatments to help diminish skin imperfections and hyperpigmentation. Laser skin rejuvenation is extremely safe by using non-invasive laser light and requires little to no down time. Here at Pure Bliss Med Spa we offer different type of laser light treatments targeting dark pigment, redness, or aging skin. Our most popular skin rejuvenation treatments are IPL also known as a Photo-Facial or Laser Genesis.
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. This treatment uses high intensity light to help remove skin discoloration, redness, wrinkles and facial lines. The skin absorbs the light which breaks apart the cells within the dermis or lower layers of the skin. IPL differs from a true laser due to the light being scattered and less focused than a laser. Pigment absorbs the light and turns it into heat in areas of hyperpigmentation, veins, and vessels. IPL may also treat hair as a hair removal treatment due to pigmented hair in the hair follicles.
Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser that targets and heats up the outer layer and deeper layers of skin. Laser Genesis is considered a true laser as it uses a YAG hand piece which focuses a specific wavelength on the affected area to deliver precise heat. This treatment is best for specifically targeting veins and broken capillaries as well as acne, enlarged pores, and fine lines and wrinkles. This laser gently stimulates the skin cells to boost collagen production, which ultimately will improve the texture and elasticity of your skin. The collagen production will also help to tighten and smooth the skin for a nice youthful glow.
While both of these treatments provide overall skin, each of them is most effective for a specific use. Laser Genesis helps in treating active acne, acne scarring, uneven pores, redness and is most effective in stimulating collagen for a reduction in wrinkles. IPL is used for hyperpigmentation, brown spots, red spots and rosacea. It is still beneficial in anti-aging and collagen induction. Both of these treatments are gentle yet effective in maintain a youthful appearance.
It is very important to avoid direct sunlight for two weeks prior to your treatment and two weeks after. You’ll need to have a good sunscreen and product regimen in place. You’ll also want to avoid any other skincare treatments that may irritate the skin for one to two weeks before. This includes waxing, chemical peels, microdermabrasion or dermaplaning. It’s also best to avoid hot tubs or saunas for one or two days before your treatment.
Do not wear makeup on the day of either treatment and stop tanning or using self-tanners four weeks prior. Bruising, redness and swelling are common after both treatments and will go away within a few weeks. Do not pick or remove any scabs that may form following your treatment. The scabbing will fall off naturally within one or two weeks.
Most people will see results in just one treatment of either IPL or Laser Genesis. Keep in mind for maximum results, most patients require a series of treatments over the course of several weeks. These laser skin rejuvenation treatments can me combined for an enhanced treatment.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation may be combined with other skin care services we offer such as microneedling, chemical peels, Botox or fillers.
