Under Eye Fillers Using Restylane and Juvederm
The under eye region is a common area of interest for patients, many patients are unhappy with shadowing and depressions under the eye. The most common concerns are darkness, hollowing, and puffiness, which can cause you to look aged and tired. Many inquire about under eye fillers to enhance the tear trough area and give a more youthful and rested look.
The tear trough area extends from the inner groove of the eye and underneath in a semicircular pattern. When skin is sunken or hollow in this area it gives the illusion of dark circles.
Restylane is the filler of choice used at Pure Bliss Med Spa. From experience Restylane has proved to be the most effective in adding volume under the eye area with minimal swelling and puffiness compared to other fillers. It is also less viscous than some fillers therefore decreasing the chance of lumps and unevenness. Restylane is an injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body. Restylane is hydrophilic and pulls water into the area, naturally plumping and allowing the filler to bind to surrounding tissue for a soft natural look and feel.
Juvederm Voluma is also a common choice for candidates with deep hollowness in the under eye area. When correcting midface volume loss, Voluma can indirectly improve under eyes hollows and give the area a smoother appearance. Injecting Voluma to the lateral cheek reshapes the mid face and can soften under eyes and reduce the look of “bags†to the tear troughs. Voluma occasionally may be extended up to the bony orbital rim used very conservatively to further correct this area. Voluma is known to improve under eye wrinkles and bags when treating the midface, the added volume to cheeks causes skin in the tear troughs to become taunt improving their appearance.
